Jeff Parnell Strategic Principal

Jeff Parnell is a Strategic Principal for MLA Companies.

He is a results-driven leader who accelerates revenue and EBITDA growth, helping his clients strengthen their competitive positions through rigorous “business optimization.”

Jeff’s diverse background includes 30 years of C-level experience–including 15 years as a permanent, interim, and fractional CEO. His experience extends across startups, non-profits, high-growth and middle-market businesses, manufacturers, a financial institution, and a public company that recruited him to launch an ecommerce business.

He positions organizations for sustainable growth by assessing core strengths, identifying and addressing weaknesses, building actionable plans, and actively participating in their execution. He builds teams and works tirelessly to optimize growth, achieve greater operational efficiencies, and build a sustainable, winning culture, and he often cites four experiences among his most memorable.

Proven Leadership

First, Jeff grew Overton’s (now owned by Camping World) catalog/ecommerce business from $20MM to $80MM while building the catalog industry’s most prolific strategic alliance program and being named to Catalog Age Magazine’s debut “Top 40 Under 40” list. As an industry pioneer, he also launched one of the catalog industry’s first ecommerce websites (Overtons.com).

He was later recruited to Blair Corporation, where he launched and grew an ecommerce business (Blair.com) from 0 to $100M. In the process, he infused new paradigms for innovation and leadership into a 100-year-old public company culture.

In a nonprofit assignment, Jeff rescued and repositioned a struggling startup business incubator.

In addition, he tripled the size of a stagnant 15-year-old ecommerce business against significant headwinds.

Having experienced the evolution of ecommerce from a silo’d, standalone business model into a more integrated ebusiness approach, he brings a unique perspective and passion to his work across industries.

Jeff has an M.B.A. in Marketing/Quantitative Analysis and a B.S.B.A. in Marketing/Business Administration from East Carolina University College of Business in Greenville, NC.
